Single: This Generation Feat. Adrian
Artist: Murs x Fashawn
Released: September 18,2012

Murs and Fashawn just dropped the titled track to their upcoming collaborative album release, This Generation.

“This Generation” is produced by Beatnick and K-Salaam, and finds Fash & Murs speaking on the majority state of their respective generation .

Fashawn:
“…brainwashed by rap and rock.
VCRS, had the Magnavox
Back in high school we had the campus locked
Non-grad when you had to drop out
But We doing something we believe in
we only living for the weekend…”

“Young niggas in snapbacks and tattoos…”

Murs:

“Eat fast food
Sell a lot of kush
Indie rap dude, getting hella push”

“My generation on some other shit
Getting faded while we waiting on the mother ship…”

Jointly, both left coast rappers come together to describe what they see happening in today’s generation, the mind state, setbacks, and breakthroughs. The chorus to the track provides vocals by Adrian which puts the whole track in perspective: “[this generation] is lacking faith, and judging what I do…”

“This Generation” appeals to those who may feel like misfits, those who have an awareness of where we’ve been fixated in this generational time period, or those who simply feel that “society wouldn’t let us in”.

Murs’ & Fashawn This Generation drops 9/25 on iTunes!
