Earl Sweatshirt<\/a> released his latest album, I Don\u2019t Like Shit, I Don\u2019t Go Outside<\/strong>, earlier this week. Compared to his predecessor album, this one takes on simplicity and is fairly short, contains few features and one guest producer. But that\u2019s not an understatement. The cohesiveness of the dark undertone production and his newfound confidence heard through his lyrics paint the picture of his struggles. Earl\u2019s few features came from rising emcees\u2014Dash<\/strong>, Wiki<\/strong>, Na\u2019kel<\/strong>, and Vince Staples<\/strong>\u2014and took on an underdog approach.<\/p>\n

In an interview with NPR Music<\/a>, Earl stated: \u201cWith the music it\u2019s not even about the competitive thing, I stopped trying to compete.\u201d <\/p>\n

I Don\u2019t Like Shit, I Don\u2019t Go Outside<\/strong>, is all Earl. You hear the young emcee achieve clarity through his struggles of a past relationship in Mantra<\/strong>, his grandmother\u2019s death in Huey<\/strong> and his forced hiatus to Samoa in Faucet<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
