(Guilty Of Dedication)” proving himself as a worthy addition of the SOX Gang crew. G.O.D. contains notable features by Mibbs of PacDiv (in the whistle-like heavy hitting Scoop Deville produced “Bradd Pitt”) & Casey Veggies (in the slight chopped and screwed track “On My Job”) , among others. But despite the known names on the mixtape, Chip Gnarly manages to entice the listener through his solo tracks.

“Gangsta Party” defines this kid’s ambition and determined hunger for a spot in the rap game through an appealing piano keyed instrumental and an occasional background baritone sample of 2pac’s “gangsta party” phrase (2 Of Amerikaz Most Wanted).

On the track “You Gone Learn Today” Chip Gnarly spits street flows over a G-funk inspired instrumental paying homage to the west coast bred era.

“Lately-Genie In The Sky” is a 2-track split joint where Chip doesn’t sacrifice his lyrical “street” flow even over a sensual mellow grooved instrumental.

Chip Gnarly’s “Ten Toes Freestyle” serves to prove his potential in the game- GOING IN on the 2 minute track.

This young spitta’ brings forth a project that is worthy of listen with G.O.D. At his young age Chip Gnarly sets himself aside from the L.A. musical trend most cats his age are partaking in (you know with all that oversaturated swag sound) and finds a balance between being real and yet staying relevant and appealing to the new rap generation.

Being G.O.D. pays off in the long run. With continuous progression this kid definitely has the potential to be one of the next out the west. Give the project a few listens, and you can take my word for it, it’ll grow on you (I know it did on me) specially if your into that “hood-street” lyrical flow out the west. With that said cop the mixtape!

-Stace Fresh

Mixtape: G.O.D.
