{"id":6562,"date":"2012-08-02T00:04:05","date_gmt":"2012-08-02T00:04:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/illsocietymag.com\/?p=6562"},"modified":"2012-08-02T00:04:05","modified_gmt":"2012-08-02T00:04:05","slug":"house-shoes-let-it-go","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/illsocietymag.com\/?p=6562","title":{"rendered":"House Shoes: Let It Go"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/illsocietymag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/House_Shoes_-_Let_It_Go.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/illsocietymag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/House_Shoes_-_Let_It_Go.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"House_Shoes_-_Let_It_Go\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-6563\" srcset=\"http:\/\/illsocietymag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/House_Shoes_-_Let_It_Go.jpg 500w, http:\/\/illsocietymag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/House_Shoes_-_Let_It_Go-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/illsocietymag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/House_Shoes_-_Let_It_Go-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Album: Let It Go<br \/>\nArtist: House Shoes<br \/>\nReleased: June 19, 2012<\/p>\n<p>Just in case y\u2019all forgot what the D had to offer to hip hop in line of producers (aside from Black Milk &#038; after the late great Dilla), Detroit\u2019s \u201cambassador of hip hop\u201d <strong>House Shoes<\/strong> hits us with <strong>Let It Go<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Let It Go<\/strong> is the studio debut album from <strong>House Shoes<\/strong> (under L.A. label Tres Records)  after almost a two decade long career in the hip hop game as a notable and influential producer and deejay in the Detroit hip hop scene. <\/p>\n<p>The production driven album holds stage to some of the savviest, often underrated, lyrical jabbers,<strong> Oh No<\/strong>, <strong>Guilty Simpson<\/strong>, <strong>MED<\/strong>, <strong>Danny Brown<\/strong>, &#038; <strong>Roc Marciano<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>The Motor City producer\u2019s irrefutable skills on the board surpass question on tracks like <em>\u201cEmpire\/Get Down\u201d<\/em> and <em>\u201cTime\u201d<\/em> which provide that perfected melodic-off sequence drum beating, under occasional snares and heavy bass line.<strong> Danny Brown<\/strong> \u201cshoot[s] like Apollo\u201d through your eardrums in the featured<em> \u201cSweet\u201d<\/em> which proves to be nothing but crude- a track reminiscent of Em\u2019s \u201cGuilty Conscience\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>The album sets into a much soulful\/ R&#038;B ambiance with <em>\u201cEverything (Modern Family)\/Without You\u201d<\/em> feat. <strong>Fatt Father<\/strong>, &#038; <em>\u201cSunrise Love\u201d<\/em> feat.<strong> Black Spade<\/strong>&#8211; adding a perfect balance to the album. <\/p>\n<p><strong>House Shoes<\/strong> wraps up <strong>Let It Go<\/strong> with the same swiftness it began. <em>\u201cRoller Coaster\u201d<\/em> featuring <strong>SelfSays<\/strong> and <strong>Fat Albert Einstein<\/strong> serves the project justice as one of it\u2019s closing tracks embedded with a beguiling hook- \u201c\u2026Get you some, whoooa-ohh, get some, whoooa-ohh\u201d. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Let It Go<\/strong> is a nearly a faultless offering of <strong>House Shoes\u2019<\/strong> production knack (production wise <em>\u201cGoodfellas to Bad Boys\u201d <\/em>falls off from the entire album\u2019s caliber), reminding listeners of that Detroit bred sound (left by the legacy of Jay Dee) is still very much evident and living in hip hop and ready to claim continuous respect.
