West-Coast up and comer, Shawn Chrystopher<\/strong> is back with his downloadable release Lovestory.<\/a>. The latest release by the Inglewood emcee is composed as a concept album, teaching and sharing lessons on the comfort and hardships that life and love bring. Features are kept to a minimum including GLC<\/strong>, Kris Kasanova<\/strong>, Stunnaman<\/strong>, Phil Ade<\/strong>, Mann<\/strong>, and fellow \u201cWe$tside\u201d bred rapper Dom Kennedy<\/strong>. Production is attributed to Cameron Wallace<\/strong>, JQ Lamaj<\/strong>, PM<\/strong>, Zaire Koalo<\/strong>, Timbaland<\/strong>, and Shawn Chrys<\/strong> himself. <\/p>\n

Lovestory<\/strong>. begins with melodic piano keys under \u201cPreface.\u201d<\/em> Shawn Chrystopher<\/strong> alongside GLC<\/strong> provide a smooth grooved hitter with \u201cH Town.\u201d<\/em> in which GLC\u2019s<\/strong> semi-quick paced and witty lines take center stage. <\/p>\n

Shawn Chrys<\/strong> aquires help from \u201cMr. OPM\u201d, Dom Kennedy<\/strong>, on \u201cSituations\u201d<\/em> giving a motivating reminder that the \u201c\u2026key to life is working harder than your situation\u201d<\/em>– as well as is the key to success. All the While, \u201cHis Thoughts.\u201d<\/em> showcases Shawn<\/strong> in a poetical light as he recites love lines of appeal and fascination dedicated to the opposite sex. \u201cBlackandwhite.\u201d<\/em> is by far a personal favorite of mine depicting a relationship narrative on lack of understanding, and appreciation (this track falls and provides a concept along the words, of another personal favorite of mine- Opposites Attract by Kendrick Lamar off Section.80). However, Lovestory.\u2019s<\/strong> most outstanding single falls within \u201cOne of My Homies.\u201d<\/em> which showcases Shawn\u2019s<\/strong> potential over a groove that brings him right on home- very west coast. <\/p>\n

Lovestory.<\/a> is a well implemented project towards Shawn Chrystopher\u2019s<\/strong> career. The emcee\u2019s progress and growth is evident within each track of this album, providing Shawn Chrystopher<\/strong> with a stable platform for his upcoming 2012 September debut, My Name Is Shawn<\/strong>– but while we wait for that, make sure you give this a listen. <\/p>\n
