It is often the case that producers get lost behind the limelight, as artists take the fore-front shine to a heavy hitting track among listeners, however, Hit-Boy<\/strong> is a name y\u2019all should know and who\u2019s sound should recognize by now! The man behind A$AP Rocky\u2019s recent fan favorite \u201cGoldie\u201d and 2011\u2019s Grammy nominated and heavy hitting track-\u201cNiggas In Paris\u201d, is back regenerating buzz- this time all to his own! <\/p>\n Hit-Boy<\/strong> debuts on the mic with his recent 11-track, self-produced release, HITstory<\/strong>. The producer- now turned rapper, acquires features by known names: KiD CuDI<\/strong>, Big Sean<\/strong>, Chip Tha Ripper<\/strong>, John Legend<\/strong>, Bun B<\/strong>, and Stacy Barthe<\/strong>. <\/p>\n The project begins with the equally titled track-a well executed narrative on the making of who exactly Hit-Boy<\/strong> is and how his uprising came about- \u201c…keep working, Hit you gonna get to this stardom, next thing I know its \u2018Christmas In Harlem\u2019. Right after that, I\u2019m workin\u2019 in a palace, overseas suites, wonderin\u2019 like Alice. Goddamn, I was just at home, now I\u2019m number 3 on the Throne.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n The project\u2019s featuring tracks – \u201cOption\u201d<\/em> (feat. Big Sean<\/strong>), \u201cOld School Caddy\u201d<\/em> (feat. KiD CuDI<\/strong>), and \u201cWyW\u201d <\/em>(feat. John Legend) all fall within worthy acclaim. But it is the Chip Tha Ripper<\/strong> and Bun B<\/strong> assisted \u201cBusta Ass Niggas\u201d<\/em> feature that takes the spotlight. All three rappers go in on the track and serve it it’s rightful justice. Chip the Ripper<\/strong> comes off with raw lyricism, Hit-Boy<\/strong> adds witty self-success boastful rhymes- \u201c\u2026life was all so hard. Till\u2019 I made a song called \u2018Ball so hard\u2026\u2019 She don\u2019t wanna let me swipe, I use my Kanye Card\u2026\u201d<\/em>– while Bun B<\/strong> adds that Southern trill factor in the mix adding the final ingredient towards perfection. <\/p>\n Amongst all the upbeat bangers lies, \u201cShe belongs To the City\u201d<\/em>, a violin string, and piano key-filled melodic rap that seemingly might be a metaphor of hip hop. All while, \u201cEast Vs. West\u201d<\/em> consists of an uplifting yet melancholy, drum and saxophone filled , Jazz-like instrumental in which Hit<\/strong> lyrically illustrates a timeline of the disastrous byproduct of the 90\u2019s coastal hip hop wars. <\/p>\n But by far the most prolific track off HITstory<\/strong> is \u201cFan\u201d<\/em>– which is a heavy bass hit with a slow tempo hook with equivalent production and hit potential as his Watch The Throne heavy hitter. <\/p>\n HITstory<\/strong> sets Hit-Boy<\/strong> on to be a double threat in the game, as well as proves himself as an honorable addition to the G.O.O.D. Music label. It\u2019s also fulfilling to say that we have yet another reason to be boastful of the recent talent flourishing out the West Coast- makes the left coast real proud that we are being represented well with good quality music, among the masses. Hit-Boy<\/strong> is most definitely making \u201cHITstory\u201d!
