The Mad Decent<\/strong> Block Party series in all of its glory returned to Los Angeles this weekend bringing with it a perfect storm of chaos, music and style. If you aren’t yet familiar with Mad Decent<\/strong>, know that it is a whole different animal when it comes to record labels. Founded by super producer Thomas Wesley Pentz <\/strong>(Diplo), Mad Decent<\/strong> is an entity that has made a significant mark in the music industry for making third world beats a hot commodity in electronic music.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s line-up consisted of up & coming new favorites along with old friends like Diplo<\/strong> & Theophilus London<\/strong> who have already cemented themselves into our preverbal playlists. Performances ranged from Dj\u2019s like Mexican imports 3 Ball MTY<\/strong> who diligently blasted the crowd with a diverse array of electronica mixed with Cumbia, seasoned with Afro Beat and entwined with other world sounds to rapper Casey Veggies<\/strong> who had the crowd tripping on its own \u201cturntness.\u201d<\/p>\n

Highlights of the events included headliner Theophilus London<\/strong> crowd surfing…multiple times, Diplo\u2019s<\/strong> always body moving Dj set and Brazillian trio Bonde Do Role\u2019s<\/strong> penis capped water gun that sprayed milk over festival goers antics but the true spotlight deserved to be on the audience who was one of the best dressed I have yet to see from an Electronic music festival.<\/p>\n

In between hanging out at the festival and enjoying the acts I roamed the crowd to seek out and meet people whose sense of style grabbed my attention.
