Pivot Gang and Kari Faux graced LA on their “You Can’t Sit With Us” tour at El Rey Theatre. Fans filled up the venue with excitement and warmth. Kari Faux was decked in vibrant tie-dye and a brightness that shone through the entire crowd. She set the tempo for Saba and Pivot Gang to take us through a story-book saga of their journey as brothers and artists. Each act was initiated by daedae narrating the experience of the members that concluded in a lyrical, melodic performance by the group. As we moved through this journey with them, the spotlight was transferred smoothly between each member, the intuitive link between them all permeated throughout the space. We gave respects to John Walt, who the group lost in 2017 and his portrait sat center stage throughout the show. Smino made a guest appearance that had the audience roaring in joy. The concert was concluded with Kari Faux joining the Gang and leaving Los Angeles on an amped, gracious note.
