Alex Hall and Emil Amos (half of Grails) have another out of this world project. Lilacs & Champagne which was released on Mexican Summer label, cannot be described simply by words alone. You will envision everything that has helped make this record. Being influenced by almost everything on the planet, you can see that these guys take producing a hip-hop album to another level. They use samples from 70’s films that have been manipulated to unrecognizable sounds which end up fitting like a puzzle. i would say it has the feel of MF Doom on space steroids kicking it with Sun Ra.
