Saturday, August 3rd, 2013 saw the opening of Baker skater Don “Nuge” Nguyen and Vol. 4’s music and skateboard inspired exhibit, “Live Heavy, Travel Light” at the Scion AV Installation space in Los Angeles.

Vol. 4 is Nguyen’s new product line put out by Bakerboys Distribution and the products created for the exhibit demonstrate how a camping lifestyle can be applied to a skating one. To celebrate, Nguyen and the Bakerboys provided an open bar and live DJ who span old psych and garage rock vinyls for the night.

You can be sure our ILLSOCIETY squad was all up in the spot to witness, party, and show support. We weren’t the only ones either. The party brought out a host of LA’s skate scene including heads like Braydon Szafranski, Sal Barbier, Dylan Rieder, Ako Jefferson and Nate Jackson. Members of Venice-based psychedelic band, The Shrine also showed up to show love and check out the handmade cigar box guitars on deck.

It was quite a fly little affair. Scroll through the photos and see what you missed if you couldn’t make it to the shindig.

Otherwise, the exhibit will still be on view until September 1st, 2013.
Find your way to 7667 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90046 if you want to peep. Window shop for your next trip into the woods or something.

Peace gods.
