Artist: Fitz Ambro$e & Ohbliv
Album: Zen Vapors
Released: September 03, 2013

Condensed vapors from across a couple oceans of sound waves have resulted in this zen little beat stew of a beat tape. Double-chef’d by Cape Breton Island raised, Tokyo-based beat maestro Fitz Ambro$e and Richmond, VA’s soul-sonic sound peddler Ohbliv, it swirls and bubbles with the spirit of funk, boogie, jazz, new jack swing and everything in between.

In the words of the artists,

“It’s basically a small collection of beats & riddims from two brothas who share some cultural reference points. two distinctly different sounds birthed out of similar influences.” – Fitz

” This project is the culmination of a lot of love for the funk, RnB
and boogie sounds. Beyond trends this is a collection of beats and
jams from two brothers doing our best to keep the vibrations high
and the funk alive. ” – Ohbliv

Both artists’ sides bounce with organic, soulful and off-kilter jams, booming with an improvisational spirit and raw interpretations of the influences each of these brothas absorb. Swaggering, popping grooves gel each minimal (yet beautifully layered) production together to form a lovely and diverse medley of tracks bursting with trademarked flavor and culture.

Both Ambro$e and ‘Bliv have $ucceeded in crafting their own uniquely modern sounds with deep individual visions. True examples of musicians pushing the beat culture (and global music in general) forward.

Enough talk though. Talk a listen & let the music speak for itself from here.

Dig & dwell on.
