Last year I came across Anthony Lister and fell instantly in love with his work. Now I know I have thrown around the word ‘favorite’ somewhat loosely here but it has always been absolutely true, this time is no exception except I have to say this is some of my favorite art I have EVER seen. I decided I wanted Lister for our first 2014 WTLB. I wrote him crossing my fingers and when he said yes I was beside myself. Ok, so I live by the no expectations rule and I am always excited to see how artists will interpret my questions but I have to say when I got his answers back this morning I was a little taken back, its like none I have ever received and I was not sure how to take them or even if I would use them at all. It wasn’t until my always supportive sister put it to me in such a way that made it all click, ‘Thats just where he is at right now’. How honest or simple is that? I love it and I love his answers and I am even more excited to kick off 2014 with our simple message of purity, honesty and being truthful in whatever it is for you right now. ISM: Where are you from?
I’m from places I don’t speak of it’s name but she is hot and nasty.
ISM: Where and how your art all began?
It began in the sands of my time capsule, I guess you could say it was walking past and I grabbed it.
ISM: What’s happening now?
Well after sacrificing everything for my craft, I’m in the horrific debts of dividing all that I love between all that I love. Turns out, love plus love = hate.
ISM: Something you are looking forward to?
Getting a new name and moving to a non english speaking country where I learn how to build fireworks.
