On Thursday, March 6th, 2014 we had the privilege of attending a private event at The Watermarke Tower Penthouse in the South Park neighborhood of Downtown Los Angeles. The event took place for one of LA’s most noticeable emerging female street artist, Sand One! If your not quite familiar with Sand One’s art, she paints those girl cartoon like characters with big eyelashes. The private event was organized to introduce her new character called “Stacks”.
The night was filled with tastemakers and executives from major corporate companies such as, the leading headphone brand Beats By Dre, Nike, LA weekly, to the largest music festival platform in North America, Coachella. As soon as you walked into the private event you couldn’t help to notice the welcoming vibes and three canvas portraits of “Stacks” lined up right next to each other, seating in front the wonderful view, over looking the great city of Los Angeles.
The three portraits together share a story about “Stacks” and what she represents. The first portrait describes “Stacks” making business calls with intentions of her collecting money, asking the person on the other line “You Got That” ? The second portrait showcases “Stacks” holding a big stack of guap! referencing she gets money! The third portrait of “Stacks” shows her laying down getting her beauty sleep after a long day of getting her money. This was indeed a tasteful event! Shouts out to Sand One and her entire team!
