Suburban Lager.
Warm winds welcomed the city of angels inside the close knit circle which brewed the Suburban Lager of SZA’s latest project, “Z”, at the Generation Hustle flagship store off of Melrose on Tuesday, April 15th.
When the doors to the event opened, the line to get into the signing stretched out down the block and around the corner. Once inside Generation Hustle, fans of the TDE songstress were immediately greeted by the motorcycle chic ambiance of the independent fashion boutique. There were refreshments provided by Playa De Caba Horchata, whose 12.5% alcohol content subtly turnt guests of drinking age all the way up. And there were also some free gourmet street tacos… but on the real, it’s good to eat, but nobody came for the tacos.
People were there for SZA.
And she was there, with her hair down, full of sunshine and good vibrations, hugging her fans, signing exclusive TDE merchandise and taking candid photo after photo as her album soothed the crowd while being pumped out aloud on the store’s sound system.
Jay Rock was in the building showing his support for the crew. Punch was there making sure every t was crossed and i dotted. Ab-Soul made an appearance, bringing Jersey’s own young Da$h Dillinger along in his entourage. Even Top Dawg came through to show love and shake some hands.
The good spirits in the air made the evening one to remember as the night ended on a high note. SZA stuck around until every last one of her fans had left the building. She definitely did a good thing and put a smile on everyone’s face that day. If you haven’t heard her new album, make sure you go and purchase “Z” on itunes. And if you are in need of some new gear, go check out Generation Hustle, across the street from Fairfax High, at 7817 Melrose Blvd.
