Its Mo’ Better Blues on wax. It’s everything you like about Slum Village on Fantastic Vol. 2. It’s definitely got Dilla’s time stamp all over it. This is Neo-Soul rap shit for lovers, who vibe out to Spike Lee flicks and drink tea like Drake at Erykah Badu’s house. It’ll give you a Love Jones like Larenz Tate (yeah, that’s a Hughes Brother’s reference). Word to track 5. (“Feelin You” feat. Botni Applebum.)

“Budamonk’s in your trunk, turn the bass up…”

Burn an ounce to it. You’ll feel better.

For real tho. It’s putting chivalry back in rap. “Apologies” is one of the best tracks dedicated to women since Common Sense or 2pac dropped some heart felt grown man bars for all the ladies out there.

It’s smooth tho. Not for the turn up, but for the Cadillacs riding slow. Blast the instrumental tracks (Jazz Cafe Pt. 2 & Ms. Mahogany) while you lean in the whip… the funk would have George Clinton drop Jolly Ranchers in his po’ up. It’s that syrupy. But on the kinda wave D’Angelo would surf.

Things end with “Universal Love”. It’s the kinda joint you wish Black Star would make again. It’s like open mic poetry in the last book store. Roots, Jazz and Hip Hop. It might just get Sade wet.

For real.

Budamonk and Joe Styles bring you a polished positive record to vibe to. It’s definitely gonna make your game velvety.
