The Fonda Theater set the stage for Ab-Soul’s These Days Tour as it lit off its final date in the greater Los Angeles area.

EarthGang was rocking the crowd on some hippy trill wave shxt as I hit the scene. They flipped a classic Common line on some:

Ticka ticka tah
I’ll tell u the rest on the day that I die.

The duo reminded me of Jimi Hendrix on Molly. One of them was sporting a hockey jersey and the other had his hair tied up with a bandana and was rocking beads and a medallion. They had a little twist of Outkast in their swag. The emcees split the crowd in two and had everyone in the building chanting “I Don’t Give A Fuck.”

Shit was ill. Catch them on twitter and peep their catalogue on earthgang.bandcamp.com

Fiends representative and J. Cole’s DreamWorks signee, Bas, was on deck next. Repping South Jamaica Queens, duke is impressive on the mic. His most recent project, “Last Winter” got some heat on it. Be alert. He makes OG shxt for the kush monsters. For real tho, he had a song telling everyone “you’ll never be higher than I am.” He had the fiends crew join him on stage for a remix to Drake’s “We Made It.” And then Bas bodied it with his other hit, “My nigga just made bail.” And you know having bail money is always a reason to celebrate.

The Arch Bishop T1 took to the 1’s & 2’s next and played a couple joints for the crowd to turn up to before introducing Ab-Soul. You know the abstract asshole might be in your hood. Especially if you’re around Del Amo in C-Arson. It was a definitely a family affair. Soulo’s mother was in the house to catch the show.

When the man of the hour finally stepped on stage, he was rocking a denim vest and a Gucci belt. Doe Burger was the hype man on the mic behind Soulo for the evening. From their, everything preceded to pop off.

Everyone got their 3rd eye in motion as the black lip pastor rocked “Pineal Gland.” Somebody threw a DMT hat on stage. If you were actually on DMT, I’m sure the show was extraterrestrial.

Ab went thru Control System highlights like “Bohemian Grove” and “Terrorist Threats” before getting into all the bangers from his new album. And given the name of the tour, you know Ab-Soul was there to floss his new shit.

He ran thru “Hunnid $tacks” and “World Runners.” Then everyone waved their hands in the air while Soulo rocked the Migos flow on “I Seen My Best.”

He was joined by Jinx and Short Dawg for “TWACT.” Asaad gave Ab the assist on “Stigmata.” And of course the loud got lit when Soulo performed “Tree Of Life.”

The certified illest moment of the show for me tho was when Ab Soul took it back to Longterm 2 and rocked “Turn Me Up.”

Somebody in the crowd asked Ab-Soul to freestyle, in reply, the Carson MC said, “This style ain’t free no more.” But if people really wanted it they could battle rap him after the show. But they’d definitely hafta put some money up. Just in the name of sport, yadda da mean tho? TDE’s really out here.

Ab-Soul bowed out gracefully but then returned to rock “God’s Reign” as an encore. These days you gotta expect Ab-Soul to keep a crowd lit until the bitter end. Congratulations on the first headlining tour. We look forward to seeing what’s next. The stop at the Fonda Theater was definitely a success.

Soulo Hoe!
