The Smokin’ Ladies of Brian Viveros

Bloody knuckles, cigars and tattoos adorn the ladies of artist Brian Viveros (Riverside, CA). Beyond all the battered faces and limp cigarettes, his women convey the femme fatale, possessing strength and overwhelming sexuality. While his work is undeniably erotic, it also tackles ideas of war, politics and cultural status. This, with the combination of the smoking bad girl, renders his unmistakable style of the darkly engaging female we love. One of our favorite pieces, Bloody Knuckles (Evillast Forever) (2011), is now on display at Thinkspace Art Gallery in Culver City for their current Exhibition Picks of The Harvest 2012 until March 24th, definitely worth checking out.
