Moroccan artist Mounir Fatmi has deconstructed dozens of prayer rugs used by Islamic Muslims and puts a new spin at extreme sports for his exhibition with ADN Gallery during UNTITLED artfair at Art Basel Miami. Mounir Fatmi applied the prayer rugs to skateboards in an array of different styles, colors, and textures. The addition of the richly colored fabrics to the skateboards results in a new meaning colliding two different world of active sports and blending them with religious objects that represent dogmas and ideologies.
