AKA have taken a new approach this season with a far more polished collection for Spring/Summer. Moving away from their street wear roots, the brand have introduced more formal and feminine pieces such as cami crop tops with matching shorts, jumpsuits and dresses. They have continued to develop their prints by taking inspiration from digital and natural sources while staying true to their monochromatic aesthetic. The spring/summer collection is dominated by white and grey to coincide with the season and a range of new fabrics are introduced from satin to denim. Although the brand are trying to steer clear from the street wear genre, the sportswear influence is evident looking at their tight crop tops, jogger style shorts and use of mesh.
The men’s collection follows suit with a much smarter range which includes formal trousers, collarless shirts, curved hem tees and a jersey blazer. On the whole the collection is made up of plain blacks and greys but there is an injection of pattern in the form of a matching tee and shorts. SS15 sees the introduction of brand new accessories such as the handkerchief neck tie and the collection is completed with a range of simple monochromatic tees with twisted hems and graphics. The brand seem to up their game each and every season and with the introduction of knitwear for AW15, we’re excited to see what they will be releasing next!
