Splashing back on the scene is Nas’s newly recruited artist, Fashawn who recently unleashed the highly-anticipated DJ Khlalil production “Something to Believe in” just a few weeks ago. The song is an amazing mix of Jazz and Soul music tied into a new age style of Hip-Hop we can all take time out to appreciate. Right off the bat the track hits you with vicious horn stabs, a smooth organ, and head nodding drums joined by Nas and Aloe Blacc soulful melody for what is simply a great display of past, present and future in an time where Hip-Hop needs more substance.

Recently, he released a documentary that gave you a glimpse into Fashawn’s Ecology and transformation from the childhood kid known as Santiago who evolved into the artist known to the world as Fashawn. The documentary explores the environment he grew up in during his early childhood narrated by his friends, family and mentor Evidence. It also highlights his influences that paved Fashawn’s path from Fresno’s familiar streets to his unfolding journey of sharing his art with a worldwide audience. Fawshawn’s The Ecology dropped February 24 on Mass Appeal Records and showcases an impressive lineup of producers like Exile and Alchemist as well as guest appearances by Dom Kennedy, BJ the Chicago Kid, and Busta Rhymes on his second album.
