On March 12th, ILLSOCIETY Media Group and Creative Upper Class celebrated style, art and music during LA Fashion Week with Keepers of the Culture in an exclusive fashion show styled by Milli.
As guest came up to the 7th floor they were greeted by a dope installation curated by Grown Azz Kids. The installation gathered inspired by the 90’s that included a projector that was blasting Menace II Society, vintage records and classic cult movies on VHS, a Michael Jordan cut out, and Cross Colours memorabilia.
First to hit the runway was Los Angeles based label, Rebel Citizen by Whitney Alix. Timeless dashiki and African tribal prints infused pieces blitzed down the runway. The gear that flooded out and into the spotlight by Tried & True took everyone back to the nostalgic 90’s. Quality authentic vintage ensembles had the power to remain timeless classics.
The night was all about the 90’s and taking it back to hip-hop’s roots. It just wouldn’t have been complete if we didn’t honor iconic hip-hop brand, Cross Colours. The tri-color pieces were reminiscent of the early 1990’s. Special guest performer, Thurz hit the stage during the tribute, performing ‘Favorite Girl’ and ‘Iconic.’
T.J. Walker, a Cross Colours founder, was in the audience as well as other notable stylists and artists such as Hitboy, Oktane of Audio Push, E Burns, Pooch Styles, Anwar Carrot, Yuske from Mookee, and Sincerely Jules. The night was great representation of style, fashion, community, unity, and culture. We look forward to producing many more. Enjoy the photo recap below!
