Australian producer Ta-Ku announces his new collaborative (m)edian EP with fellow Aussie and rising singer Wafia, set for release June 24 via Future Classic. The duo share their first track from the project “Meet in the Middle” today, which sees Ta-ku bring his singing chops and beautifully mesh with Wafia’s stunning vocals over an infectious downtempo R&B beat. The duo first came together with their breakout take on Estelle’s “American Boy” with their aptly titled “American Girl” and debuted their joint live act during Ta-ku’s MoMA PS1 show (1 of only 2 US shows) last year. The new EP is the result of the tight creative bond that naturally developed between the two and is founded on their shared experiences with their own fathers. The collection of beautifully-crafted and highly vulnerable songs detail the extraordinary and sometimes thorny relationships one has with their father. Stream “Meet in the Middle” above!
The duo will jumping on the road together for a string of shows across Europe and Australia (select dates already SOLD OUT), in addition to kicking off a proper US tour (dates forthcoming) with a performance at III Points Festival in Miami taking place October 7th – 9th. Full dates below.
