Was kind of skeptical about The Game’s tape California Republic, but I was presently surprised that it’s a really good mixtape. He has pretty much everyone in the game featured on this tape from Nipsey, Lupe Fiasco, Shyne, and Rick Ross, to Fabolous, Fat Joe, Lyfe Jennings, and many more as well, but none the less its dope. There isn’t a lot of good gangsta rap out there and I’m glad The Game still represents that; since the beginning, and this tape should have definitely been an album but what can you do. One nice track that caught my attention is “Skate On” it features Lupe Fiasco, who kind of murders Game on his own song- but it’s still sick. More tracks to check out are “It Must Be Tough” featuring Pharrell and Mysonne, produced by The Neptunes, and also “Come Up” featuring Drake and Lifestyle that’s produced by Boi 1Da.
