Josh Pan & Dylan Brady have announced their collaborative album, This Car Needs Some Wheels, out March 14th on OWSLA. The two artists have made names for themselves as versatile producers in their own right but came together to do something entirely different, an indie album with deep and introspective songwriting that’s a giant leap from what they’ve done before.

The album’s lead single “Wheels” was finished after a productive all-night studio session. “Writing with Dylan feels like a structured stream of consciousness. I felt abnormally poetic that night – probably more poetic than I actually was. It’s my personal belief that you gotta be in a crazy headspace to write something memorable sometimes,” says josh. Dylan adds, “It was about 5 AM I think. It felt like we were wrapping up, collecting ourselves. But somehow we started writing one more song. Me and josh were really in sync that night. Never really had an experience like that before.”

The cinematic video for “Wheels,” follows a mysterious man searching for something in the desert but even he doesn’t know what. Director Grant Curatola states, “When he finds the shovel it’s like a divine calling. He sets out into the desert to dig for the rest of his life. I wanted the act of digging to become an obsession. Something the character can’t walk away from and slowly it causes him to go insane.”

This Car Needs Some Wheels tells the story of a man striving to find truth and meaning in a cold world filled with heartbreak and pain. On his path of discovery, he realizes that most suffering and unhappiness comes from within and that we create misery and problems for ourselves in our own heads. The album describes his journey and embodies his hope for a better future for the world, starting with transforming himself.
