Saturday the party started early to provide more line ups from The Eric Andre Show Live!, Tierra Whack, 2 Chainz, Vince Staples, Freddie Gibbs, and much more. The first act I saw was Cupcakke. Her sexually explicit songs were received with empowerment and confusion by some, in which an audience member flipped her off during “Deepthroat.” Quick to respond, she addressed him and said that “he can’t fuck her.” Bringing her energy back to her music, she sang her remix parody of Lil Das X’s “Old Town Road,” called “Old Town Hoe” while her fans sang back the lyrics.

Helado Negro brought mellow vibes. His soothing vocals accompanied with a saxophone and violin felt dream-like in addition to an inception motion graphic of Rick in the background.

Freddie Gibbs and Madlib were classic. Playing from their latest project, Bandana, while mixing in previous drops. Gibbs not only kept the crowd singing his lyrics, but kept them laughing with jokes. He then brought out his daughter onto the stage. The sweetest moment.

Rapsody took it to another level showcasing her lyricism and technique. During her performance, she brought up an audience member to the stage to sing to him Tupac’s “Keep Ya Head Up.”

Tierra Whack introduced her whacky world singing from her latest project. Her unique style and confidence portrayed throughout her performance captivating the crowd by singing the “Happy Birthday” song and other riddles, while also hyping the crowd up. During her performance of “Unemployed,” she brought out her special guest Potato from her music video out now.

By this time, the crowd doubled as they awaited 2 Chainz to appear. Once 2 Chainz arrived on stage, the crowd roared with immense joy. Fans held up 2’s to show their admiration. Right from the start, you could feel the crowd’s energy as they sang the artist’s lyrics “yeah I’m different..” while jumping and waving their hands in the air.

The wave of energy switched to a humorous tone as Eric Andre premiered a Live show. Bringing up Seth Green and audience members to chat and have contests with. He even brought out rappers such as Vic Mensa for a live showing of a skit where rappers are blindfolded while taking a bite of a Chile pepper and going through obstacle courses. Andre announced a new season of The Eric Andre Show to premiere on Adult Swim soon.

Vince Staples welcomed everybody to his Vince Staples Show in which he had mini remixed clips of shows remade to include him. One such show was South Park where they inserted a Vince Staples character and changed “South Park” sign to “Ramona Park.” The stage was completely hazy adding to the lit-ness of his set. The crowd jumped continuously while the rapper song repping Northside Long beach.

To end the night musically, Jaime XX came out with a simple styled stage yet sound enriching set. The lights changed colors throughout his performance adding to the euphoric vibes.

All in all, the two-day festival provided by Adult Swim was one for the books. They kept their fans entertained all night, making it feel as if two days were not enough. I am excited about what awaits the following year and where it will be next.
