Maverick Sabre has released his powerful and emotive 4-track EP You Know How It Feels via FAMM / The Orchard. The EP showcases Mav’s expert storytelling as a moving body of work that explores sensitive touchpoints within relationships, neglected youth, politics, the power of influence, and dismissed generations. Speaking on the narrative behind the new project, Mav explains, “This EP is sonically a continuation of the feel of some of the last album but experimenting a bit more. Conceptually it’s four moments of inner processing, overthinking and questioning what conditioning we take on and never let go of.”
Continuing his passion for articulating his work through exemplary and thought-provoking cinematic visuals, Maverick has teamed up with award-winning, multi-faceted director, filmmaker, and creative Fenn O’Meally to deliver a powerful video for his first single from the EP, “Don’t You Know By Now”. The visual depicts the bittersweet ending of a relationship and brings to life the reflective track. Quoting on the collaboration, Fenn shares: “It’s been special to work so collaboratively with Mav, we are both storytellers, so the story aspect of this piece and the following pieces came naturally. I’d record our conversations whilst we were brainstorming, and I realized during this time the beauty in using conversation within this project. The entire project is soundtracked by a conversation on mental barriers between Jordan Stephens and Mav. In ‘Don’t You Know By Now’, we obviously look at love, but I guess in a very bittersweet human way.
