Big K.R.I.T. is getting ready to drop his debut album Live from the Underground June 5th and The ILL fam with NPR got to hear the live stream and from what we hear it’s going to become a classic hitter for him. Live from the Underground is a perfect overall body of work, and it has classic album qualities- while the album’s general lyrical theme alternates from moments of pain and pleasure to frustration. In addition, Krit realistically depicts the less glamorous and darker side of the urban life with great skill. K.R.I.T. also tapped into some of the best like Memphis Tennessee legends 8-Ball & MJG and Atlanta’s own 2 Chainz on the track “Money on the Floor”, Anthony Hamilton for “Porch light”, and even his lovely grandmother Ms. Linnie for ”Live from the Underground( Reprise)” which is a real beautiful song that’s sincere coming straight from the heart. There are a lot of other major artists featured on this album like B.B. King, Melanie Fiona, Bun B, Big Sant, Ludacris and many more as well as dope production that will help Big K.R.I.T. keep evolving and bring Live from the Underground commercial success it deserves. Listen to the live stream here.
