Album: Sex, Drugs, & Video Games
Artist : David Banner
Released: May 5th, 2012

David Banner has been quite the busy one with producing and all his philanthropy work, but it’s been a minute since he has been on the mixtape circuit. Now Sex, Drugs, & Video Games isn’t just a mixtape. It’s a free independent album that David Banner is using to get people who support him and his music to donate to the 2M1 Movement. David Banner has stated that “The 2M1 Movement is to start controlling our own music, movies, and content… Once the goal is met, I’m going to shoot a movie that will drop May 22, 2013, and a portion will go to charity…” We really applaud what he is doing because certain genres have a way of steering off course, if you will, and becoming way too commercial and then disappearing in the end. We being a part of the hip hop community should definitely want to help in keeping hip hop for the people, by the people and expanding beyond the hoods and inner-cities while still retaining that raw, urban, essence that created it. This album does not fall short of what David Banner puts out and if you rock with him this will reinforce your support, and you will be glad to know it’s a great statement to listeners and artists alike that David Banner is not playing when it comes to music. Tracks to listen for would be “Believe” ft. Big K.R.I.T. -Produced by Mr. Lee where David Banner speaks the truth on this track and it’s refreshing to hear someone spit actual knowledge instead of metaphorical punch lines. Another track that bangs is “Californication” ft. Snoop Dogg, Game, Nipsey Hussle, Rass Kass and Kree, Produced by David himself, and it’s a definite summer anthem especially if you’re Cali bred. Other features include ASAP Rocky, Lil’ Wayne, Chris Brown, 2 Chainz, Bun B, Don Trip, Maino, and many others. SUPPORT THE MOVEMENT and download here!
