Album: Rugby Thompson
Artist: Smoke DZA
Released: June 19, 2012

The self proclaimed Kush God teams up alongside fellow New York producer Harry Fraud (“La Musica De Harry Fraud” -the man behind French Montana’s breakout heavy hitter, “Shot Caller”) and brings forth a project equipped for all those partaking in “Smokers Club” activities.

Smoke DZA manages to deliver a balanced project incorporating his signature “weed rap” rep (like in “Game 7”) with day to day street narratives, as presented in the tender horn-blowing filled track “Playground Legend” .

However, the Jet Lifer’s most hard hitting tracks off this project receive lyrical assistance from some of the hottest lyrical jabbers coming up in the game right now. Curren$y, Domo Genisis, ScHoolBoy Q, Action Bronson, A$AP Twelvyy (among a few others) all get a hit at this project.

“Ashtray” is an exquisitely snared chopped and screwed 2 Chainz (all my cars got gas in the ashtray) sampled joint featuring Domo Genesis (Odd Future) and ScHoolBoy Q (Black Hippy) that guarantees to have you trance-like at first sound contact.

Fellow smoking comrade Curren$y accompanies DZA in the mellow grooved “Baleedat”. This track will have y’all wanting to just get in your whip, bump this, and spark one up- It’s like that…baleedat! Among other worthy collaborative tracks lie the Sean Price assisted “F*ck Ya Mother” and the Action Bronson “Turnbuckle Music”.

Fraud and DZA might just have a promising project with Rugby Thompson and this new found chemistry between rapper and producer, crafting an album ready to be enjoyed by all the smokers (and then some) lifting off in jets. Jet Life…get ready for lift off!
