Album: Glory EP
Artist: Iggy Azalea
Released: July 30,2012

The first lady of Grand Hustle has released her first EP entitled Glory and this 6 track project is just a little taste of what we are to expect from her debut album, The New Classic, due out later this year. With the help of B.O.B. Iggy Azalea sets the tone for this tape on “Millionaire Misfits”. “…I’m dumb paid/ dumb sluts couldn’t get 3 stacks outta André/They ask me what I want, I say whatcha got/everything, private plane, multi – million dollar yacht…” She rhymes fast over this slick Bei Maejor beat while B.O.B drops his signature gold.

“MurdaBizness” is the single from Glory that features her mentor T.I. which was a good choice for a hit. Not only for T.I.’s presence but for the dope punch lines (now with a more southern twang) she drops from bar to bar. “Iggy. Do it biggie/tell ’em keep sending bottles, Ima pop 50/these other bitches think they hot? Not really/ she a broke ho, that’s how you know she not with me”.

On “Runway”, Featuring Pusha T, Iggy spits about finding her identity and how where your from doesn’t always make you who you turn out to be. “…where you stay ain’t gotta be what ya made of/what’s in ya heart don’t always match where you came from/couldn’t see you so they treat you like a misfit/cuz ya mind clicks in another district…” It’s a more honest track and you can tell it hits close to home with critics constantly analyzing Iggy’s persona and her upbringing.

“Flash” is indeed THAT song Iggy is known for. Produced my Mike Posner himself, its provocative, racy, and slightly raunchy (in a Foxy Brown kind of way), as she takes a classic spin on the late night urges one gets when you’re feeling a tad bit lonely. “My main man fuck me good like a side piece/tell me that I’m beautiful then get it from the side please/got me callin’ out ya name like you need to be reminded…” And with Mike Posner on the hook you know it’s going to be a naughty little number.

Glory cements her position as one of hip-hop’s growing acts. This EP surely sets the table for The New Classic– an album fans and critics are expecting from Iggy, and if she’s simply giving away music of this quality, you know she is going to taking it up a few notches with her debut release. Cop Glory here.
