Born in the San Francisco Bay Area, Annie was raised in a family heavily involved in art and other forms of creativity. Gaining an appreciation for all forms of visual art at a young age, Annie was encouraged and inspired artistically by her Uncle Mike Taylor, a well known sculptor and leather mask maker living in Australia.

Annie began drawing at the age of five and by the age of sixteen was heavily involved with the underground graffiti art scene in San Francisco creating her own guerilla artwork and gaining a reputation with her peers for her unique style and being recognized as one of the areas few female graffiti artists. About ten years later she picked up a paintbrush for the first time and started putting her unique style on canvas.

No longer illegally painting on walls, Annie’s graffiti background continued to influence her work. Despite a lack of formal art training, her unique style and use of color sets her work apart. Annie had her first showing at a local café where she displayed nine paintings and sold out. In the beginning, Preece showed her paintings anywhere she could and eventually her art career began to flourish, with gallery shows, art walks, commissioned pieces, clothing design, murals, set designs, and more.

Annie now lives and works full time in Los Angeles as a hired artist and painter and shows her work in several Los Angeles locations.

Annie will be having a opening reception on Thursday, August 23rd 2012, from 6-10pm, for her solo exhibition called “LOVE ANNIE” at Portfolio 360, 7665 Melrose Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90046.
