Nitty spits in her signature mellow grooved flow, reciting lines of personal and musical growth, all over a harp-dreamy filled instrumental. The female emcee acquires a little help from lyrical powerhouse Kendrick Lamar, leaving him to brokenly croon a well fitting hook out of his “secret garden” as the track builds into a short and crude, yet far from floppy, verse from the Compton lyricist.
Nitty Scott, MC’s “Flower Child” only serves to prove why y’all should give up your ears to the emcee. She’s one of the few respectably female rhymesayers that are bringing that true, raw, culture filled, old-school felt hip hop to the table. Make sure y’all keep this “Flower Child” within your radar!
