Thursday night’s event (Mookee by Yuske/Grown Azz Kids Launch Party) sponsored by ILLSOCIETY MAGAZINE, Prep Jerks & Just Be Cool was surely something for the record books hosted by none other than style innovators “The Dorks.” Fashion forward men & women from all over the city found themselves on the historic Melrose Avenue in collaborative celebration of the new line. The collection entwines familiar fabrics reminiscent of adolescence in comfortingly subversive ways. Although many pieces of the collection are geared towards certain sexes, garments can surreptitiously be donned in a unisex manner. Every piece of the collection is a MUST HAVE item, from the trucker hat/snapback permeated with Hawaiian décor to slip on Hermes/Fendi sneakers to custom fashioned collared shirts with a military bag handle embedded into the back Mookee by Yuske has done something few street wear (understatement) manufacturers have done early on and that is change the game. Along with the stunning array of pieces in the new line, there are different kinds of chairs and home furnishings customized with vintage MCM overlay that was setup similar to a pop up store/showroom.

Attendees dripped buckets of metaphorical runway ambiance while reveling in the soundtrack of the night. As you look amongst the crowd you seen style highlights from the classic 90’s era with people wearing old school Fubu jerseys and retro Nike’s to 2012 pieces from Gucci and Givenchy collections. Dj’s kept the party jumping while the bar staffed with a team of beautiful and hardworking women but really would you expect any less from an event of this caliber? Highlights of the night besides the incredible pieces were the variety of different ensembles. To cap the night off, there was an intense Rap cipher by a host of local MC’s that showcased their lyrical wordplay for everyone in attendance to enjoy as well as a special guest appearance by TISA designer Taz Arnold. Not to take away from other party goers, everyone killed it in their own way but these are the (severely hard to rank) top photos of the night:
