This month Jonathan Zawada opens his exhibition Free Roam Above The Mist, an awe-inspiring show of rendered oil paintings that will send you floating through a world of digital landscape and straight into the artists perspective of metaphysics, perceptual and transitional reality. To take you on this journey Zawada, originally from Australia, had to manifest his love for science and art which he did perfectly by taking photos of the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, a mountain range bordering Germany and the Czech Republic, and using the data collected from this summary, such as the digitised landscapes formed from singularly colored triangles and flickering pixels, he translated these computer generated pictures onto his canvas. The results are transcending and, lucky for us, right here in Los Angeles at Prism. Take the trip, it’s worth it. Show runs September 8 – October 6, 2012
