Mixtape: Baby Face Killa
Artist: Freddie Gibbs
Released; September 25th, 2012

Gangsta Gibbs hits us with nothing’ but heat with this one!

Freddie Gibbs released the much anticipated, DJ Drama hosted, mixtape Baby Face Killa putting him in just about everyone’s mouth. Baby Face Killa features a number of today’s talented lyrical jabbers including SpaceGhostPurrp, Dom Kennedy, Young Jeezy, Jay Rock, and Curren$y (to name a few).

Gibbs set’s off the mood to the project with “BFK” giving off a hard grunted gangster appeal- ‘Eastside niggas they ‘bout it, Westside niggas they ‘bout it, Northside niggas they ‘bout it, Southside niggas they ‘bout it, ‘bout it’.

The project includes previous released tracks “The Hard” (featuring Dana Williams) and “Kush Cloud” (featuring Krayzie Bone & SpaceGhostPurrp). Gangsta Gibbs keeps the momentum on “The Diet”, where despite being a bit thrown off with the oversaturated timbre drum roll in the hook, the track will nonetheless have you leaning back and forth on a gangsta lean tip. Find Gibbs speaking like a boss, ’Got Versace’s on my frame, Vendi on my waist…’ on “Money, Clothes, Hoes”.

Freddie Gibbs really flaunts west coast influence through tracks “On Me” (featuring Problem), and the Dom Kennedy assisted “Walk In Wit the M.O.”, where Gangsta Gibbs and the self proclaimed ‘Leimert Park legend’ make for a perfect duo, on such a smooth-piano filled, Cookin’ Soul produced track.

Among other standout tracks “Tell A Friend” (featuring Curren$y) which give off a very heavy New York hip hop vibe, incorporating lots of cuts and scratches and sampling Jay-z off “So Ghetto”.
Freddie Gibbs also has some shit for y’all to get ‘turnt-up’ to, with “Go For It” (featuring Young Jeezy) and “Every City” (featuring YG).

Gangsta Gibbs doesn’t fall short to the name on Baby Face Killa.

‘See what you have feels like gangster music.
Sound like gangster music.
And look like gangster music…” Enough said!

Cop the mixtape here.
