Kendrick Lamar steps in with a rather large statement but probably the realest to date on “The Heart Pt. 3” (Will You Let It Die?), the follow-up to the last “The Heart” sequel off (O)verly (D)edicated.
The track features Ab-soul and Jay Rock and was recorded last night (Oct. 19) in Vegas, where the TDE comrades still join K.Dot on the last headlining dates of the BET x TDE Music Matters Tour. Soul and Jay drop lines testifying to the journey unraveling the crews rise and success.
K.Dot uses the dream-like Tae Beast beat to express his take on his life-changing triumph and the opportunity to make music for an entire generation. You can hear the pressure and overwhelming feeling in Kendrick’s broken voice as he repeats:

enough pressure to open the Book of David

There’s a hint of disbelief, stress, appreciation, love, and lots of humility, within this track. “The Heart Pt.3” hits close to heart for those of us that have witnessed Kendrick’s and the TDE’s progress toward victory.
