Ralph Ziman is widely known for his video work with such artists as Michael Jackson, Toni Braxton and Ozzy Osbourne and he is the writer, producer and director for over 6 feature films including Hearts and Minds, the first independent movie completed after apartheid. Ziman will be showing his latest project Ghosts in his first ever solo show in Venice Beach at C.A.V.E. Gallery. Ghosts is a series of photographs, sculptures and installations produced during his collaboration with Zimbabwean street vendors on a series of handmade replica AK47s. The outcome of the work is transcendent, otherworldly and illuminating though the surreal aesthetic bears a heavy weight with its political connotations and fluorescent warfare. Opening night for Ghosts is Saturday February 8, 6-9:30pm and runs until March 2, 2014, it is a must see.
