Day and night, we live. Day and night we love. We play. We vibe. We dance. We live our lives the way we want to. We do what we want, wear what we want, say what we want. We have no filters. The music we love is a reflection of all of this, and this is what Day N Night Festival was about.
For two days, in the middle of nowhere, Oak Canyon Park (a festive ground surrounded by mountains and a huge lake), the youth could be themselves. Without access to wifi, we were forced to actually enjoy the adventure that was Day N Night. We danced around together, smoking and drinking together, while chanting the lyrics to our favorite artists like Lil Yachty, 21 Savage, ASAP Rocky, Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert, and Young Thug (to name a few). We showed off exclusive outfits, or showed off some skin, but no matter what, it was all in good fun. Nothing but good vibes. No one was there to cause any trouble, or to judge one another. We were all just there to enjoy the music that we listen to on a daily.
During his set, ASAP Rocky said something special about Day N Night: “Day N Night is to let you see the artists you actually like and WANT to listen to. Not that shit they force you to listen to and make you like.” This is what made Day N Night so special because it really did offer fans the opportunity to watch a lot of artists that came up on the underground scene, artists that really depend on the fan influence for their music to shine.
Despite it being extremely hot and humid for two days, and being stuck in traffic for hours at the end of the night, the energy never went away. Day and night, the crowd remained hyped from Saturday through Sunday, and I can say that Day N Night was one of the most live festivals I ever went to. If you didn’t make it out for whatever reason don’t trip-check out the photo recap below.
