If you were anywhere this past Friday, you were most likely at the All Def LA show at the Union hosted by ADD and HAM on Everything. This was the craziest HAM yet – the line extended around the building and the Union quickly became over capacity – as the HAMILY came out to support some of the hottest artists in 2016, particularly Playboi Carti.
From the moment you walked in the door, the place was lit. I have yet to see the Union as crowded as it was. DJ sets by Nedarb and Dem Ham Boyz had the crowd moshing and chanting out the lyrics to their favorite underground songs, and even some of our favorite throwbacks. All the performers had amazing stage presence, and Keith Ape even did a surprise performance – there was literally not a single dull moment. At the end of the night, Adam of HAM on Everything brought out Playboi Carti with special guest A$AP Rocky and the crowd went crazy.
During the set, A$AP Rocky announced that Playboi Carti was now signed with Interscope Records. You know Carti’s next mixtape going to be lit. I really can’t wait for that drop now. Congratulations to Carti on the amazing accomplishment, and props to HAM for throwing the most lit parties in LA, as well as giving the youth a platform to be themselves and enjoy the music of their favorite artists, both underground and mainstream.
