Complex Magazine launched their first “ComplexCon” in the city of Long Beach, California earlier this month at the Long Beach Convention Center. ComplexCon was a two day event which combined a music festival, panel’s with special guest speakers, collaborations/pop ups, and art installations. It brought out over 10,000 people from across the world. Takashi Murakami did a meet and greet with fans at the ComplexCon entrance and Beats 1 Radio live-streamed from the lobby with Zane Lowe and Ebro. During the day, attendees were able to shop exclusive drops from likes of Nike, Adidas, Bapes, Vlone, and many more brands. Besides shopping, the Pigeons and Planes stage had it lit for the day concerts featuring Metro Boomin, MadeinTYO, Cheif Keef, Lil Yatchy, Kamaiyah, Tunji Ige and more were hosted throughout the weekend. Some of the highlights were DRAM performing a special set at Nike’s Culture of Force space, Pharrell unveiling his new collaboration collection with GStar, and Vince Staples shooting a live episode of Sneaker Shopping with Joe La Puma.
ComplexCon also brought out tons of popular food trucks for guests to enjoy. A nightly concert series was also included in the weekend event. Night 1 featured Skrillex, Kid Cudi, and Travis Scott while Night 2 included Snoop Dogg, 2 Chainz, Migos, Brittany Sky and a special surprise guest appearance by Pharrell, closed out a weekend that was truly to be remembered. Overall, ComplexCon was everything we anticipated–and more, bringing art, music, fashion, and food all to one place for us to enjoy. We expect for there to be many more in the future!
