LA based singer, songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, DOT, has revealed her debut album Retrofuture, released via her own label, Unspeakable Records.
Compiled of 11 tracks written, produced, and performed by Ellwanger, blend so well from beginning to end. Retrofuture takes us down an ethereal path beginning with appropriately titled instrumental opener “Antigravity.” Moving deeper into the work, Ellwanger’s soft toned voice takes center stage on singles “Amnesia,” “Love Is,” and “Home.” Retrofuture also possess an upbeat dual nature thanks to 90s R&B inspired single “Say So” and 60’s pop tinged tracks “Lost Time” and “Let It Go.” Throughout the work, listeners are exposed to a myriad of instrumentation- from organic elements such as guitar, drum kits, and bass, to electronic synth, sample packs, vocal distortions, and more.
